Returns & Refund Policy

At Shahi Kesar we take quality and customer satisfaction seriously. Because saffron is a food product and a high-value, hygiene-sensitive item, we have a strict returns & refund policy to protect product integrity and ensure fair treatment for all customers.

Please read this policy carefully before placing an order. By ordering from www.sk.akshayorganicsfoods.com you agree to the terms below.


1. Scope & Important Principles

  • This policy applies to all purchases of Shahi Kesar products via our website and official sales channels.

  • Saffron is a sealed, perishable, and hygiene-sensitive product. For safety and quality reasons we cannot accept returns of opened or used products.

  • We strongly recommend inspecting packages at delivery and reporting any issues immediately.


2. Order Cancellation (30% Cancellation Fee)

  • Cancellation before dispatch / shipping confirmation: You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it provided it has not been dispatched. Cancellations approved before dispatch will incur a 30% cancellation fee (calculated on the product subtotal) which covers order processing, payment fees, and restocking.

    • Refund amount = Order Subtotal − 30% cancellation fee − any paid shipping fees (non-refundable if shipping already charged).

  • Cancellation after dispatch / shipping confirmation: Once an order has been dispatched, cancellation is not permitted. If you refuse delivery, the returned parcel will be treated as a returned shipment and the refund (if any) will be processed after we receive and inspect the return, subject to the “Refused / Returned Shipments” rules below.


3. Returns — Eligibility (Unopened / Unused Only)

We accept returns only in the following limited circumstances:

  • The product is unopened, sealed, and in its original packaging, AND

  • The return request is initiated within 7 calendar days from the date of delivery (delivery date = date shown by carrier).

  • The product shows no signs of tampering, use, or broken seals.

Returns that meet these criteria are eligible for exchange, replacement, or refund (subject to deductions described below).
We do NOT accept returns for:

  • Any product that has been opened, partially used, or where the safety seal is broken.

  • Products returned after 7 days from delivery.

  • Change of mind, incorrect choice, or allergy/food preferences after opening.


4. Damaged, Defective, or Transit-Affected Goods

We inspect quality before dispatch, but occasionally transit damage may occur. Please follow these steps carefully — failure to follow may void the claim.

Inspection at delivery

  • Inspect the package in the presence of the delivery agent. If packaging is visibly damaged or tampered with, please refuse delivery and notify us immediately.

  • If you accept delivery, take clear photos of the outer carton, shipping label, seals, and product packaging before opening. These images are required for transit claims.

Reporting timeline

  • Report damaged, defective, or missing items within 48 hours of delivery by emailing akshayorganicsfoods@gmail.com with: order number, photos (outer box + product + seal), and a short description. Claims reported after 48 hours may be rejected.

Resolution for verified transit defects

  • If the product is found to be defective or damaged in transit after verification, we will, at our option:

    • Replace the item at no extra cost to you, or

    • Issue a full refund for the defective item (see Refund Calculation below).

  • We may request that you return the defective product for inspection; return shipping will be reimbursed only if Shahi Kesar confirms the defect/transit damage.

Important: While we cooperate with carriers, we cannot accept responsibility for damage that occurs after delivery acceptance if a customer accepted the parcel despite visible damage and did not follow the “inspect at delivery” steps.


5. Refused or Returned Shipments

  • If you refuse delivery or the shipment is returned to us by the carrier, we will inspect the returned package.

  • If the returned parcel is unopened and in resaleable condition, you will be eligible for a refund after deduction of:

    • 30% restocking fee (applies to cancellations and refused shipments), plus

    • Original shipping charges (if any), and

    • Any return shipping charges incurred.

  • Refund amount = Order Subtotal − 30% restocking fee − shipping & return costs.


6. Refund Calculation & Timeline

  • Cancellation before dispatch: Refund = Subtotal − 30% cancellation fee − shipping (if charged).

  • Return of unopened, eligible product: Refund = Amount paid − 30% restocking fee − original shipping − return shipping (if applicable).

  • Verified defective / transit-damaged product (accepted claim): Full refund of the product price OR replacement at our discretion; shipping reimbursements depend on case verification.

  • Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7–14 business days after we approve the refund. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take additional days to reflect in your account.


7. Non-Returnable & Non-Refundable Items

  • Opened or used saffron products.

  • Any item missing the original safety seal, batch code, or authenticity certificate (if included).

  • Products modified, repackaged, or tampered with by the customer.

  • Gifts that were personalized or custom-packaged (unless the item is defective).


8. International Orders & Customs

  • For international sales, import duties, customs charges, and local taxes are the responsibility of the buyer and are non-refundable.

  • Transit delays or customs-related damage or loss that occur after the shipment leaves India are subject to the carrier’s policies; we will assist but cannot accept unconditional liability.


9. Wholesale & Bulk Orders

  • Wholesale or bulk orders (10g and above) are inspected and packaged with COA and batch codes.

  • Claims for wholesale shipments must be reported within 5 business days of delivery.

  • Special return/replacement terms may apply for wholesale clients and are defined in the purchase agreement.


10. How to Initiate a Return or Claim

  1. Email akshayorganicsfoods@gmail.com within the required timeframe (48 hours for transit damage; 7 days for unopened returns).

  2. Include: Order number, contact details, photos (for damaged/defective claims), and brief description.

  3. Our team will respond within 48 business hours with instructions. Do not ship returns before receiving authorization. Unauthorized returns may be rejected.
